Home Appliance Recycling [Group A] FY2023 Results
“Resource Recycling” and “Carbon Neutrality” Pages Updated
The results of home appliance recycling [Group A] for fiscal year 2023 are now available in the updated pages of “Resource Recycling” and “Carbon Neutrality” in this website.
The “Resource Recycling” page shows the number of units of the four specified kinds of used home appliances recycled as well as the amounts of specific materials recycled, and the “Carbon Neutrality” page shows GHG reduction effects from recovery of resources from the four specified kinds of used home appliances as well as GHG reduction effects from fluorocarbon recovery.
We will continue to contribute to realizing a resource recycling-oriented society and achieving carbon neutrality.
Resource recycling
The number of units of the four specified kinds of used home appliances recycled in fiscal year 2023 amounted to about 6.75 million.
Amounts of specific materials recycled:
Iron: 97,000 t; Copper: 8,749 t; Aluminum: 3,858 t; and Plastics: 62,000 t.
Further, when we look at these figures using familiar examples…
Carbon neutrality
GHG reduction effects from recovery of resources from the four specified kinds of used home appliances in fiscal year 2023 were about 490,000 t, and GHG reduction effects from fluorocarbon recovery were about 3.2 million t; this contributed to about 3.68 million t of GHG reduction in total.
When we convert these figures into CO2 emissions by one person in a year…
